On Friday, July 24, Joseph McMahon was shot to death outside his home near Pasadena. Mr. McMahon was twenty-four.
The following day, authorities identified the man they believe is responsible for Mr. McMahon’s death, Brandon Rafiepour.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau, Mr. Rafiepour was found dead inside his car in the West Los Angeles area from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Mr. Rafiepour was also twenty-four years old. Mr. Rafiepour is suspected of having shot Mr. McMahon outside the latter’s home shortly after 2 a.m. on Friday. Neighbors reported gunshots and police arrived and found Mr. McMahon’s body in the street.
Mr. McMahon was a former associate producer on the television show, “The Deadliest Catch.”
Mr. Rafiepour’s criminal history is reported to not contain any violent offenses. However, authorities have not yet identified any motive for the crime.
