A Laguna Hills‘ woman was exiting her car on Tuesday when the car began to move as she was getting out of it. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department released a statement on Wednesday that a 70-year-old woman was seriously injured when her car began moving while she was exiting.
Reports claim the woman was dragged across two traffic lanes prior to freeing herself from the vehicle. Subsequently, the car crossed the medium, struck a curb, and then continued moving down the street about 100 yards. Police are unsure why the woman was attempting to park on the south curb of Laguna Hills Drive as it is a no-parking zone.
The woman was taken to a local hospital and is recovering.
